ABOUT

Ivonne Porras is an outstanding and versatile performer who enjoys singing in opera as well as art song and chamber music repertoire.


She has performed with great success various art song recitals including “Canción de la vida profunda”  and “Life is a Dream” in the Recital Hall of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. 


Some of her most recent opera engagements include the leading role of Pamina in Mozart’s Magic Flute at the Crescent Theatre in Birmingham conducted by Chris Bucknall, Clorinda in La Cenerentola by G.Rossini (RBC Opera Scenes) conducted by Harry Server and Gretel in Hänsel and Gretel by Humperdinck (RBC Opera Scenes) conducted by Tony Kraus. Chorus parts in Verdi's "Il Trovatore", Mozart's "Magic Flute" and "Alfonso und Estrella" by R. Schumann at the 'Opera de Baugé' Festival in France. She has also been invited to sing as a soloist in 8 versions of the “Opera Galas” some of them as part of “Opera al Parque” a renowned opera festival in Bogotá, Colombia. 


Her wide trajectory in the chamber music repertoire includes being part of the group “Dalai” with whom she performed at the “Teatro Colón” (Bogotá) repertoire for voice, cello, and piano.  She has also performed Bottesini's repertoire for voice, double bass, and piano. Boccherini’s Stabat Mater, for soprano and string quintet at the "Boccherini Chamber Music Festival" (2019) and Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 by Villa- Lobos with a guitar ensemble in the Recital Hall in Birmingham, UK.


Ivonne Porras is currently pursuing a master’s degree at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire under the tutelage of Yvonne Sandison.
